Ranch Hand – Full-Time Position

Are you passionate about regenerative agriculture, livestock care, and land stewardship? Hart Ranches is seeking a full-time Ranch Hand to assist with the daily operations of their 7,000-acre ranch. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced ranchers in a dynamic and conservation-focused environment.
 

 

About the Ranch


Hart Ranches is dedicated to regenerative ranching and conservation. They prioritize soil health, sustainable grazing, and wildlife conservation. Their operations include:

  • Beef cattle raised for auction.

  • Goats for targeted grazing, helping to restore pastureland.

  • Hay production for feed and winter reserves.
     

 

Job Responsibilities


As a Ranch Hand, you will assist with various aspects of ranch operations, including:

  • Daily feeding and care of cattle and goats.

  • Sorting and handling livestock.

  • Operating farm equipment (tractors, skid steers, and trucks).

  • Repairing and installing fencing.

  • Assisting with calving and herd health management.

  • General maintenance of ranch facilities and equipment.
     

 

Qualifications & Requirements


The ideal candidate is:

  • Physically fit and able to perform demanding outdoor tasks in all weather conditions.

  • Experienced with livestock or eager to learn proper handling techniques.

  • Proactive and self-motivated, capable of working independently and with a team.

  • Detail-oriented and committed to ranch stewardship.

  • Willing to live in a rural setting and adapt to the ranching lifestyle.

  • In possession of a valid driver’s license (own transportation required).
     

Preferred Skills (Desired but not required):

  • Equipment operation (tractors, skid steers, trucks).

  • Welding, carpentry, or general mechanical skills.

  • Experience with regenerative agriculture or conservation.
     

 

Compensation & Housing
 

  • Wage: $18–$25/hour, based on experience.

  • Housing: Off-farm accommodations available for a subsidized rate, including utilities and Wi-Fi.

  • Schedule: Full-time (40+ hours per week), with flexibility based on seasonal needs.
