Life on the Ranch

Wake up by 6am

Drive to the ranch

Be out by the shop at 7:45 to begin morning chores

Feed the calf abandoned by its mother milk

Change the water in all the cattle drinking throughs

In the corral near the shop feed fresh hay to the heifers that have recently given birth to calves

Take the tractor out to the field with a fresh hay bale to feed the herd

Take a break for breakfast in the staff lunch room

Continue the rest of the day with repairs to equipment and other similar chores

Remove the porcupine quills from farm dog Bruce's face for the tenth time. He never learns!

7pm rolls around and the sun is almost set. You head back to your lodgings in Hanna
-
You repeat a similar routine Monday to Friday. With taking turns with other ranch hands on weekends to feed the animals.
